Three Men Meet God

Three men were standing before God at the day of judgment and became acquainted with one another and good friends.

The first stood before God and God asked, "Is there anything you would change with your life?"

The man replied boldly, "No, I did good deeds my whole life and repented of all my occasional sin I committed. I wouldn't change a single thing."

God nodded and point to a chair, "Sit over there while I finished with the other two."

The man sat down and the second man stood before God and God asked again, "Is there anything you would change with your life?"

The man replied, almost as boldly as the first, "Not much, only a few things here and there that really bothered me, but most of my life was filled with good."

God nodded and pointed to a chair, "Sit over there while I finish with the last one."

The man sat down and the last Man came and stood before God but before God could ask the man fell to his knees before him. God then asked, "Is there anything you would change with your life?"

The Man began to cry and he said, "Yes Lord, I would change everything."

God was puzzled by this response and replied, "Did you do many thing you are ashamed of or that you did not repent of?"

"No Father. I did not sin once."

God insisted on an answer, "Then what would you change?"

The Man, who had been looking down, looked up and gazed into the eyes of God and answered, "I could have done more. I could have helped more people. I could have done more good. I could have brought more people to know you."

"I see. Stand up all of you."

The other two came over and once more stood before God. God asked, "Only one of you is three is going to make it into the highest kingdom of glory." He turned to the first man, "Who do you think it is?"

The man replied without a moments thought, "Well me of course, I have no regrets."

Without replying God turned to the second man and asked, "Who do you think it is?"

He paused for a moment before saying, "Me, I've done some wrong but I've acknowledged it and made up for the wrongs I've done."

Once more without replying God turned to the last Man and asked, "Who do you think it is?"

The man looked down and took a long moment to consider, "Well it can't be me. I'm not worthy to enter your kingdom. I've not done enough."

God smiled at the man, "But you've done all I asked of you. You did not sin and you are humble enough and you've done all the good you could but still wanted to do more. Come and sit with me at my right hand."

The Man fell before God and bathed His feet in tears and cried, "My God, my God, thank you so much for all you've done for me. How can I ever repay you?"

God smiled again and answered, "You already repaid the debt in life doing my will and keeping my commandments."

"But God," The last Man replied. He pointed to the others, "These are my brothers. Have they not done all to do thy will? Is thy mercy not great enough for them as well? Please, bid them to come in and sup with us."

God had a tear come to his eyes and he smiled broadly, "My Child, my Son. Because of my love for thee, how could I refuse your request? They have done all they could as well."

The other two men now fell to their knees, because in their hearts they had been mocking the last man, and now they cried, "Please forgive us of our thoughts and let us come in unto thee."

"Because of thy desire for forgiveness and the words of this Beloved Son, you also may come in unto me and share my right hand with him."

The two men fell before the last Man and cried, "Thank you. You are our Savior and Redeemer, for without you all would be lost."
